Survivable Combat Tactical Vehicle (SCTV)
The SCTV integrated vehicle system offers occupants an armored monocoque v-hull crew capsule and restores tactical mobility with proven components. The SCTV protective capsule replaces the current HMMWV crew compartment in a one-for-one exchange. It retains the characteristics of the original HMWWV cab by using most of the existing controls, linkages and drive systems.
The SCTV system protects troops against blast and IED threats during combat operations on the battlefield. The continuing need for substantial and sustained deployments across the full spectrum of operations requires innovative solutions to protect troops. Crew survivability has become a key performance parameter for all vehicle platforms. SCTV offers an innovative solution that delivers MRAP-level protection and restores tactical mobility at a fraction of the cost of other vehicles. A mature system that is quickly moving to TRL 9.
SCTV is production-ready.
Survivability
MRAP-level protection has been reached in independent tests, while significant improvements have been made to the crew compartment, doors, windows and other weak spots significantly increasing survivability during both an initial blast and any secondary effects, including fire crushing, rollover and collision.
Mobility
Our solution offers a lower center of gravity yet higher clearance than a full up-armored HMMWV restoring the vwhicles' mobility.
Weight
Our solution weighs significantly less than a fully up-armored HMMWV. The SCTV system is easily transported by road, sea, or air.
Cost
The SCTV cost is a fraction of the cost to replace HMMWVs with new vehicles and, with little to no logistics tail and field retrofit capability, the Total Cost of Ownership is lower than other solutions. SCTV allows existing HMMWVs to be upgraded in fewer man-hours than the current armor and frag kits. The SCTV is low maintenance and supported by the military's existing parts inventory.
